For the debut release of Point of Memory I tried to shift from personal narratives to a broader exploration of life in 'Void Pusher,' I challenged myself to write about the general human condition and not specific personal experience. I partially failed as the album inadvertently mirrors recent life events upon reviewing the track list. Nevertheless, efforts were made to infuse less personal and more universal elements.

Source recorded over a year in 5, week long sessions at SANS. All sounds performed live through amplifiers, PA systems, or acoustically and captured with room microphones. Some sounds created at home and laundered through amplifiers via playback and re-amplification. "Void Pusher" was mixed every morning for 9 months.

Void Pusher is partially an attempt at acoustic computer music; combining "in the air" digital cut ups and live ambient noise with raw organic room sounds. Inaudible super-bass frequencies pumping through a room filled with acoustic instruments and electric guitars set to quaver and rumble sympathetically. Then record the result; a cacophony of resounding snares, harmonizing drones and subtle rattles. Most of the time you can't hear the bass, just the reactions to it. By passing the source sounds through amplifiers at their original frequencies and mixing them with their reactive acoustic counterparts, each moment assumes its own physical logic, a sense of movement and consequence to actions.
